B. COPYRIGHT
The Republic of Panama protects author's rights over their work, be they local or foreign, no matter the form or expression, by the mere fact of creation. This right is awarded fro the entire life of the artist and fifty (50) years after death, in which case the heirs exercise the right over the works. The law also allows that these rights be transferred in life to other persons.
The Copyright and Related Rights Office, part of the Copyright General Directorate of the Education Ministry, is in charge of receiving and processing applications for the registry of works and artistic productions, phonographic, radio phonic and literary.
